Motorcycles, the apparently invisible traffic of the road

Saturday 20 March 2004, 06:29 WST

My close friend of mine has got out of hospital today. Luckly his injuries are only minor, meaning he’s messed up, and in pain, but he hasn’t broken any bones, and he’s alive. Much to my extreme relief. His bike, a Honda NSR, is completely written off, being thrown under a 4WD tends to do that to a bike. But the bike isn’t the important matter, my friend is alive (even though he’s worse for wear).

This has really put me off trying to get my motorcycle licence (even though I haven’t really got off my arse to do it anyway), both friends I know that have, and ride bike, have been in accidents. Not because they’re stupid, far from it, I’ve been a passenger on their bikes and not once felt my life was in danger.

No, it’s because the majority of people who drive cars, are fucking morons who don’t pay any attention to anyone else who isn’t in a car. Of course motorcycle drivers aren’t without fault either, but I’m damn sure it’s usually cars, etc that take bikes out more than anything else.

Here’s some pictures of what’s left of my mate’s NSR.

I dream of being chased by a giant pacman

I’m going to try and get around to building my own MAME cabinet. I say try, because I can never seem to follow any type of project through. However this time, I’ll get at least halfway I’m sure. You can find my attempt of a journal here. At the moment I’m just in the planning stages, which to be honest is the longest.
